Introduction
We aim to cater for your needs in our home based
2 bedroom Bed and Breakfast establishment. The following statement
is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions
please feel free to cal us and we will endeavor to help.
Pre-Arrival
Direct local transport is limited to an infrequent
bus service from Swanage (about 4 miles away) or a more frequent
service from Poole or Swanage that can drop a guest off at the
end of the road leading to the village. We can provide local taxi
numbers or by special arrangement meet guests from points in the
local area. The nearest mainline train station is Wareham and
is about 20 minutes away by car, a bus service is available to/from
this station at Swanage.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
We are situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with car parking
outside the house, guests are also welcome to park in the driveway
if they prefer. The curbs are low and there are no gradients at
the roadside.
Assistance with luggage is always available.
From the roadside the entrance is accessed via a lawn and a 9cm
step to a paved patio and then a further 10cm step into the porch
and the front door. The patio access point is illuminated with
solar lights in the evening.
Access to the patio from the driveway is via 4 steps the deepest
of which is 24cm.
Guide dogs (only) are welcome.
Seats area available in the porch area.
Public Areas – Main Entrance
The front door has one step 13cm high and one step-over
7cm high, the door is 74cm wide.
The entrance/hallway leads straight onto the dining/reception
area.
The hallway has floor ceramic floor tiles the dining area is carpeted.
Guests are escorted to rooms and the facilities explained.
Public Areas – General (Internal)
A flight of 13 stairs leads to a landing, guest
bedrooms and the guest bathroom. All are carpeted with short pile
carpet. The small landing corridor is 90cm wide at the narrowest
part.
Public Areas – Bathroom and WC
Guests share a private combined bathroom and WC.
The bath has a ‘sit-down’ shower.
The bathroom a part tiled with a wooden floor. The bathroom and
WC is on the same level as the bedrooms and in close proximity.
The bath edge is 52cm high and the bath has two grab handles,
one on either side and in the middle of the bath length.
The pedestal wash basin is 80cm high with a curved underside.
The toilet seat is 45cm high.
The door width is 74cm.
Public Areas – Bedroom 1
Bedroom 1 has a door width of 74cm. There are single
beds and the room can be booked as a single room, twin or double.
Beds are movable on request. The minimum width around beds in
twin room configuration is 62cm.
The bed mattress is 56cm high.
A small wardrobe, armchair and small table are provided.
Public Areas – Bedroom 2
Bedroom 2 has a door width of 74cm. There is a double
bed and the room can be booked as a single.
The bed mattress is 50cm high.
A small wardrobe and stool are provided.
Public Areas – Dining Area
Breakfast is served in the dining area located on
the ground floor.
Tables have a height of 75cm with a 73cm under-space.
The chairs are high backed and have a seat height of 46cm.
We do not play background music any area of the B and B.
Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
We use ‘Fairtrade’ products wherever possible.
All reasonable dietary requirements will be catered for.
Public Areas – Garden
Our front garden is available for guests to use.
The garden is laid out with tress, lawn and flower beds. There
is one 9cm step to a paved patio. Garden seats and a table are
provided here.
Shop
There is no longer a regular shop in the village,
please ask for anything you may require i.e. toothpaste etc.
Additional Information
In addition to being a Quality in Tourism rated
accommodation we are also a member of the Jurassic Coast Quality
Business Scheme and a participating member of the Green Tourism
Business Scheme.
Mobile reception in our area is poor so guests are welcome to
use our landline telephone if the need arises.
Smoke alarms are fitted in the bedrooms and landing.
