2012 GAMES….

Chiltern Lodge and a legacy for Dorset from the 2012 Games

The Dorset Strategic Partnership is committed to ensuring that Dorset makes the most of the once-in-a-lifetime involvement in the 2012 games by securing lasting benefits, otherwise known as the ‘community legacy’, for the people of Dorset.
is a ‘legacy list’ of the 12 key benefits organisations across Dorset will strive to gain from the Games.

As part of our contribution to the Dorset Strategic Partnership’s 12 for 2012 Legacy Chiltern Lodge is committed to supporting as many of the 12 initiatives as is reasonably possible.

Our contribution is as follows:

Legacy aspect Contribution
3 We will continue to support the work of the South West Coast Path Association by encouraging and supporting the use of the coastal path for hiking purposes. Further to this each of our bedrooms provide literature to support the exploration of Dorset on foot or by bicycle. OS maps are available to borrow.
4 The promotion of those items in aspect 3 will result in the positive promotion of active lifestyles.
7 We will continue our volunteering work in local community activities such as the Swanage Railway.
8 Chiltern Lodge has a policy of continuous improvement and this will continue in relation to providing high quality visitor accommodation that is regularly assessed by external inspectors.
10 Chiltern Lodge will continue the link with the Jurassic Coast Trust encouraging all guests to contribute by making small donations to our link project with Durlston Country Park. The project being the sponsorship of educational packs used by students visiting the park.
12 Chiltern Lodge will continue to be associated with the Green Tourism Business Scheme and will improve its environmental performance as often as circumstances allow.
